Offerpad’s 2022 Year in Review

What the heck does ‘auld lang syne’ mean anyway?

Of course it’s the quintessential song we all sing to usher out the old year and welcome in the new. But as we mumble and stumble through the words, do you know what they actually mean?

A little EOY trivia for you. The song is based on an old (or auld) Scottish poem that was later set to music. The phrase “auld lang syne” translates literally to “old long since” and means something along the lines of “times gone by.”

Now when your friends ask what the heck they’re singing about on New Year’s Eve, you can tell them. (You’re welcome.)

In addition to singing about the times gone by, most people take the time at the end of each year to review and reflect on the events and things that took place during it, too. So since we’re not one to flout tradition (except when it comes to real estate 😉), here’s a look at some of the milestones we’ve hit and some of our proudest moments in 2022.

Helping more customers in more markets

Through unpredictable market shifts and economic changes, we managed to continue to grow and expand — bringing our buying, selling and home loan services now to more than 1,800 cities and towns nationwide!

We moved into The Golden State for the first time in 2022, making a home for ourselves in Sacramento, Riverside and San Bernadino. We also opened more markets in Colorado (Colorado Springs and Ft. Collins), Florida (Ft. Myers) and Indiana (Ft. Wayne).

You liked us, you really liked us!

Even with market expansions and more customers, you helped us achieve an overall Customer Satisfaction Rating of 93%* throughout the year! We also won gold, silver and bronze awards for unprecedented growth and excellence in customer experience in the 2022 Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service. (Really proud of this one because it shows how much we really love our customers. 🧡)

Doing homes your way with Offerpad My Way™

Ever wish when you’re buying a home that, ‘Boy, this kitchen would be perfect if it just had different countertops, or the living room didn’t have that Pepto pink accent wall?’ Well, now you can buy an Offerpad home and renovate it the way you want before you move in. No more waiting for ‘someday’ after you’re living there to make updates.

We started testing our new Offerpad My Way program** this fall in Phoenix. Customers who buy one of our homes there can pick their own updates like new paint, flooring, countertops and appliances. We give you a quote for the work and have everything all done for you by the time you’re ready to move in. All you need to do is unpack and start enjoying your new home. 🏡

BTW, did we mention that we sold over 10,000 homes for the first time in Offerpad history in 2022? Didn’t know we sell homes? Yep, we do. So if one of your New Year’s resolutions is to buy a new home next year, we can help. Get started here:

Giving back

In November we celebrated the one-year anniversary of our Employee Volunteer Program. Offerpad employees can use up to 40 hours to volunteer at non-profit organizations of their choice. Our employees have logged over 1,800 VTO hours since the program began in November 2021, and more than 1,700 in 2022 alone!

Back in April we also partnered with the National Forest Foundation to plant a tree for every home we bought or sold for the remainder of the year. So far we’ve helped plant over 7,500 trees in 2022! We’ve made a meaningful difference toward reforestation and removing pollutants from the atmosphere because of you.

Thanks again for making 2022 so memorable. We truly appreciate all your kindness and support and look forward to doing even more for you, our incredible customers, next year. Until then (it won’t be long 😉), we wish you all your best year ever in 2023! Cheers!

For auld lang syne, my dear

We’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet
