Celebrating four years of a better way to buy & sell homes

Offerpad just turned four! That’s practically an entire lifetime in startup years. Thousands of homes and happy customers later, it’s hard to fully absorb our story only began in 2015. Those were simpler times —  Offerpad was only operating in a handful of markets back then; today we’re operating in fourteen and have a shuffleboard table. We’ve grown a lot in four years and that’s cause for celebration.

Traditionally, turning four means doing it big at Chuck E. Cheese with your classmates and eating your body weight in pizza. But turning four in startup years is basically like turning 33 in dog years — give or take a few years. So, rather than rock out with Mr. Cheese and his animatronic band, we used our fourth birthday as a chance to reflect on the magnitude of the moment.

In all seriousness, having the ability to notch another year in this business is something we’re awfully proud to add to our resume. It’s validation that our modern approach to real estate is resonating with people all over the country. It’s a testament to our leadership, being able to navigate a competitive industry and remain at the forefront of the conversation. Each time we reach another birthday, it’s a chance for us to remind ourselves what it means to ‘embrace our roots’ — being about people and providing them with a less stressful way to buy and sell homes. We don’t take a moment of any of it for granted.

Having our cake (and eating it too)

We had a great birthday party. To kick things off, Offerpad employees were treated to a delicious homemade BBQ feast. People, we’re not messing around when we tell you this was some of the best BBQ we’ve ever had — and we have a heavy presence in Texas! There was a smorgasbord of savory meats and sides to choose from; a true carnivore’s delight.

With full bellies, Offerpad employees also had the chance to take home some cool prizes (and bragging rights) by participating in a few games. Our team members guessed how many ‘Offerpad’ orange & white gumballs were in a jar, completed an Offerpad-themed crossword puzzle (no. 7 down was a doozy), and, per HQ tradition, took turns trying to loft a ping pong ball into a small bucket below the floating mezzanine area, our “sundeck”.

One of the best parts of the day was unwrapping gifts sent from our different regional locations. Each item was specific to their location. HQ received a plastic alligator from our Tampa location, a Disney World hat from our Orlando location, an oversized poker chip from our Las Vegas location (we’re told this is not legal tender at the roulette table, unfortunately), some cool artwork from our Charlotte and Houston locations, and other great gifts from our additional locations that will surely accent the mantle of Offerpad’s HQ. Now that we think of it, it’s probably time to get busy with the ‘thank you’ cards.

We’ve had the good fortune to experience some sensational growth since our company was founded in 2015 — but this is really just the beginning. From humble beginnings to now being mentioned in the Wall Street Journal, we’ve accomplished a lot in our relatively short history.
