How to brrr-ing on the curb appeal this winter

The changing of the season brings so many opportunities to change up your home’s curb appeal. Whether you’re getting your home ready to sell or just want to spruce things, there are lots of ways to warm the outside of your home up for the coming winter season. ❄

Plant some plants

Just because the typical flowering season is over doesn’t mean your landscaping or front porch shouldn’t include plants and flowers. There are so many cold-weather plants waiting for a new home. Head to your local nursery to grab some hostas, holly, coneflowers, or any of the many plants that thrive during colder months while bringing some color back to your home.

Be the light

The days are growing shorter, so make your own light! Exterior lights not only make your home safer but appear warmer too. Make sure all of your lights are clear of snow and debris so they’re working to their full potential. Hang a few lanterns or leave some on your front porch steps that match your home’s style. Use them to light up a walkway for a charming welcome into your home.

Add some color

There are so many ways to add a pop of color to your home and make it stand out from others on the street. Get some winter-friendly plants like those we suggested above, hang a wreath on your door, find some garden ornaments, update your mailbox and string up strands of festive, multi-colored holiday lights. The possibilities are endless!
