As promised, Offerpad is expanding into new cities this year, and we already got started with our launch into Houston on January 15. This is our second Texas opening (Dallas-Fort Worth got its start November last year) and we plan to head to San Antonio within the next few months too. There’s a lot of real estate in Texas and a huge number of families we’re excited to help with their home sale and purchase.
Our Goals in Texas and Beyond
We posted here and in the news that we were planning big expansions throughout 2019 and 2020. Now it’s happening, and we couldn’t be more excited to offer the easiest, most convenient, and all-around best way to do real estate now. We had estimated that throughout 2019, we would take our solutions to several new markets and become available to more real estate consumers just in 2019 than we served in total at the time of that announcement in October. Lofty goal? Yes, and that’s how we like it! We got started on that plan a little early as we opened in DFW and later in Tucson, Arizona toward the end of last year. Now we’re in our second Texas metro and on our way toward our goal to reach 9.4 million more home-owning households in more than 600 additional cities.
As we mapped out 2019 and 2020 last October, we were proud to emphasize that we were reaching 6.7 million households in about 534 cities. By the end of this year, we see Offerpad in more than 1,143 cities, available to help more than 16.1 million households have the best real estate experience imaginable.
We’re on the Ground in Houston
Now in Houston, we’ve become available in 86 more surrounding metro cities and able to serve many more families. Our regional office is located in The Woodlands where we have local teams ready to lend insight on the Houston area’s real estate nuances. Offerpad is known for merging tech with real estate and part of that includes our awesome tech team that creates, and constantly fine tunes, our home valuation algorithm. Using that, along with our experts who specialize in our specific market areas, Offerpad takes into account hundreds of data points that allow us to provide fair, convenient, and fast home offers to those who request a free offer on our website.
Buying homes in Texas
Our last Texas opening was fantastic and, only a couple months in, we’re happy to have attracted a lot of interest from families hoping to sell their home the Offerpad way. In the weeks leading up to our Houston launch, even before being open, the home offer requests started flowing in. Now that we’re up and running and able to serve them and the many others who want to sell a home in Houston and neighboring cities, we’re sure we’ll have a great impact in Space City’s metro area.
This isn’t the end to our excitement in big Texas! We also announced a few months ago that Offerpad would start in San Antonio toward the beginning of 2019 – stay tuned for more about our official launch date there! Our start to 2019 is all about Texas and we’re thrilled to be there in two areas now and another one soon. The areas of Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio are the top three largest metropolitan areas in Texas; working in the state’s biggest cities, Offerpad will be able to help many, many families sell, find, buy and move on to their next chapter. We’re excited to be part of that process and happy to be in Texas.
