Tomorrow is National Take a Hike Day! You may have thought hiking and the great outdoors were summertime activities, they certainly can be, but many trails are open year-round, especially where we’re from in warm Arizona. Take a Hike Day is a fun opportunity, no matter where we are, to enjoy the outdoors – in cooler weather and with less bugs – and reconnect with nature. Whether you’re looking for a strenuous, high-mileage hike or a gentle nature walk, you might find trails within driving distance of your home. In fact, the National Trails System includes over 50,000 miles of trails in an extensive network that spans the country. You may be just minutes from a great trail adventure. If you’re not, don’t worry! Offerpad has plenty of homes for sale that can give you quick access to nature, fitness and outdoor enjoyment.
This year is an especially great time to celebrate Take a Hike Day as 2018 marks the National Trails System’s 50th anniversary. In 1968, the National Trails System act called for the establishment of trails in urban and rural places for people of all ages, interests, skills, and physical abilities. The act promotes the appreciation and enjoyment of trails while helping make them more accessible to the public. We can find trails, well-known and less trodden, across the country in National Parks, State Parks, and city or county recreation areas where we live. Our local Maricopa County Parks and Recreation is celebrating the day by inviting everyone to hike any of its plentiful trails in the valley and waving the vehicle day-use park entry fee. They’re also hosting a bunch of guided hiking and trail events on Saturday morning. Whether you live here in Phoenix’s East Valley or in any one of our other operating areas, we’re sure you can find fun ways to enjoy nature on National Take a Hike Day.
Offerpad, in Arizona and in other parts of the country, is glad to offer homes near popular points of interest including great hiking trails. This week we feature homes in the Phoenix metro area that are just minutes from well-managed and iconic trails in the valley. Just imagine lacing up your boots and being on the trail within 10 minutes of leaving your beautiful home, how about 5 minutes? The rugged Sonoran landscape of central Arizona makes for great hiking, especially this time of year. So, layer up, fill your canteen, and take your pup or pal to a trail nearest you – they’re not hard to find in the Phoenix and East Valley areas but if you’re the outdoorsy type or a fitness enthusiast, chances are you wish you were closer to your favorite trails.
Here are just a few Offerpad homes near the recreation areas of the Phoenix Mountain Preserve, South Mountain, the San Tan Mountains, and McDowell Sonoran Preserve. Whether you’re in the hunt for a large single-family home, a condo, townhouse, or smaller single-family home, we’ve got it all. You can always tour these homes using Offerpad’s Instant Access that allows you to enter enabled homes at your convenience any time between 6am and 11pm.
